"I didn't come to know about Amie's tragic accident until four weeks after it
happened, feels kinda strange...I saw her show here in Sweden last summer
(1997), came to meet her, talked to her and got her album signed. I think
I've
been having kinda 'Amie-fever' ever since. So sweet, talented, young and
beautiful. What a waste! Her life and career had just begun... So hard to
understand why something like that had to happen to such a lovely person like
Amie... It's not fair!"
Regards, Yngve Soderquist Yngve (shown left) with Amie when she performed in Malung, Sweden on July 8, 1997. Amie autographed the picture at the right for Yngve. |

"I am a DJ at two radio stations in Norway -- Radio Hamar and Radio Pe1o in Lillehammer. Last summer (1997) Amie visited a country festival here in Norway. I had the pleasure of meeting her and made an interview, too, with her. This little lady impressed me a lot. Therefore, I almost got in shock when I heard that she now is dead in a car crash. She has become one of my favourite artists, this beautiful singer. I sent you a picture (shown at right) from when she was here…she is here together with me…it is easy to see that she seems happy after her shows. We have all lost a great singer and a friend."
Yours,
Trond Vangen

"I
remember Amie as a very sweet and nice girl that I fell flat for instantly.
I aired an interview with her on our local radio,
Sveriges Radio Dalarna, when she
visited Sweden some years ago (1996). Amie acted very natural both on
stage and on air, so I didn't need to edit the interview at all - I just mixed
in some of her songs in the i-view, and the whole thing was done! She
performed at Kupolen in
Borlänge, Sweden and was backed by Thomas Haglund's band.
It's really nice to listen to such a singer, and I also felt that I could just
relax and listen, ´cause I felt Amie would make it really good and she sure
did! She had good contact with the audience, and I know that they appreciated
her a lot. Amie and I talked music a lot since I'm a musician too, and she
told me she loved the sound of a steel guitar that sings and whines. This picture (shown left) was taken
by Amie's mom in Studio 1 during that interview. For very easily understood
reasons, I couldn't resist to give Amie a hug. I still have very mixed feelings
when I look at these pics - it feels totally wrong when a young, very nice and
talented person dies."
