"I was a great fan of Amie's . I didn't know her personally but I am best friends with her first cousin. They went to school together. Her name is Amy Scott. When they went to school at Brusly Middle School together they had most of the same classes and one was P.E. taught by Mrs. S. Moton in 8th grade. Now I am in 8th grade and have the same P.E. teacher Mrs. Moton. I mentioned to Amy Scott to see if she had any of the same teachers and she told me a little story about Amie she remembered. She quoted, from her memory from 8th grade, 'Amie and I were a crazy pair of blondes. I remember how Mrs. Moton would fuss at us for silly things and one time she wrote us up. I remember so well how Amie busted out laughing after signing the C-14' (a note to their moms saying they had misbehaved and their moms had to sign it.) She goes on," When I looked down to sign it I saw what she put, it said, 'Wonder Woman,' I busted out laughing. By then the teacher was really curious, when I signed it, I added, 'Super Woman.' We gave it to Mrs. Moton with grins on our faces. Mrs. Moton read it and started to laugh." Mrs.  Moton said, "I can't believe ya'll -- ya'll are two of a kind." As she tore the sheet up, Mrs. Moton laughed." As Amy told me the story she almost started to cry - such a wonderful memory had to die. Amy misses her a lot."

"I just got the Internet for Christmas. One of the first things I looked up was Amie. I was so happy to find someone that would understand what I feel. I met Amie at a mall here in November,1994. I had bought her CD and was proud to meet her. I was so nervous, but I wanted to ask her so much and let her know how special she seemed to me. She was so sweet, and spent a lot of time talking to me. She was nice enough to give me an extra copy of her stuff. So, I joined her fan club months later. I wrote to her, asking her to pray for me about some things. She sent me a card saying she would. I still have it and will cherish it always. I had just done a recording session here when I came home and my Mom told me what had happened (to Amie). What can I say except my heart was broken. So beautiful, so talented. Why am I heartbroken? Because she seemed like, maybe, a friend I'd met. One I wouldn't regularly see or talk to. But for the day I met her and received a card from her...for those moments, she was my friend. God Bless You for remembering Amie and helping others to. Anyway, just wanted to show my support for Amie."

"Just a little thank you from our family to you for the wonderful web site you have on Amie. We watched Amie grow from a little girl to a beautiful young woman. Her loss was such a tragic time for her family and ours. We have many fond memories of the performances we attended, from the time she was 3 years old. She was such a warm person who loved her family and fans. She will always have a special place in our hearts."

"I'm a 17-year-old from Michigan and I truly am proud of you for making this web page. You're an inspiration to us all. I remember a few years ago I was watching the country videos and this amazing girl with the most amazing blue eyes and voice I've ever heard. I was mesmorized. Then time went on and I forgot about her.

I was watching country news and I can still remember when they said that she died when her car hydroplaned on the street. I was so sad and I couldn't believe it. It now reminds me of Selena. It's so sad when a young life was cut short and a lot of people said she was going to record a new album and that she was going to be big and more well known. But you're keeping her memory alive and for that I am truly thankful. I'm sure Amie is too -- it's how she would have wanted to be remembered. Her music will always live on..."

"I'm a country crazy from Japan. I was informed of Amie's death on your page. Yearning for country music, I went to Nashville for the first time in 1995 when I was only 20. It was my first trip to a foreign country. I remember I went to TNN studio to see the recording of Crook & Chase program -- it was Feb. 28, 1995. Amie was there as one of the guests 'cause it was Mardi Gras. She sang "Who She's To You" and I fell in love with her voice at that time. Four and half years have passed...I still listen to her "Moving Out" album, which reminds me of my first Nashville trip. I didn't want to know this sad, sad news if I could. But I believe she's gonna keep singing in heaven and will always be a singer who reminds me of my great memories."

"When I first heard Amie's music it floored me. She had a beautiful voice with ambition. I was stunned to hear about her unfortunate death. She had so much of a future ahead of her. I just recently bought her second album and I am looking for her first. Her memory will always stay with me even though I never met her. Thanks goes out to those who wrote and sang 'A Very Special Angel.'  Y'all did a beautiful job."

"Hi, like many people, I read of the death of Amie in 'CountryWeekly' magazine. I couldn't believe it! I recalled seeing her video on CMT from time to time and watched her on Gary Chapman's Prime Time Country. I thought she had a great future in music and wondered why I hadn't heard any more from her. Hearing of her car wreck answered the question. I then began a search for her CDs and got very lucky. I found a copy of her disk 'Moving Out' at a Wichita music store. (As near as I can tell, it was the last one available for miles around.) I then ordered 'A Very Special Angel.' (That's a perfect title for the disk!) It was after listening to both disks that I began to appreciate her talent and feel our loss. I think she would have evolved into a real player in country music. It saddens me to know that she went largely unnoticed. I would just like for Amie's family to know that, even though I never met her, I think she was a remarkable person who touched a lot of lives. I know that the blessings she brought to those close to her will last a lifetime. To you, and to everyone else who has taken a role in keeping Amie's memory alive, thank you very much! She is worth it."

"I knew Amie her entire life. Just as everyone has stated, she was a very talented, beautiful person we will all miss. Her first CD was dedicated to my brother, Rodney Miller. He loved her very much and enjoyed singing with her at family gatherings. He passed away a few days before Easter '93, he was to sing in the choir that Easter morning. Like Amie, God must have needed two more beautiful voices in his choir...She will always be in our memories and hearts."

"I got Amie's new CD from Amazon.com!! It is so great to hear new music from her!! She is so talented...I wish she was still here. I cried all the way through the first track just realizing this is it... no more music from Amie Comeaux. I just wish she could've known before she died how much she meant to me. She was so beautiful, so generous, sincere and just a gem in the business. She didn't care how many albums she sold, but instead how many hearts she touched through her songs. Her vocal range is great!! She reminds me a lot of Marie Osmond. I think my favorite cut is #1...'When You Smile At Me'... it just speaks to me."

Lots of love, Jessica

"I'm shocked over this discovery...I wish it wasn't true......the Amie I knew is gone, it’s a little hard to understand.......The first time I met her was at a concert in Borlange in Sweden. I got her autograph and listened to her songs - she was amazing.......The summer the year after she did a tour in Sweden and  we met again in Malung, a little village near my town...we talked for a while, her grandmother was traveling with her, very nice by the way, then I asked Amie if I would see her in Borlange, but she didn’t tour Sweden that autumn... But I have a beautiful last memory of Amie, and I will always keep it in my mind.  Keep this site up!! Let the light shine for Amie."

"I am 19-years-old and I am a fan of country music. I read your web page about the late Amie Comeaux. She is one of my favorite new country singers. I bought her CD when it was first released. When I was home over Christmas break, I was watching TNN, The Nashville Network,  when I became aware of Amie's passing. I was saddened by it. I was never a member of Amie's fan club, but I would have liked to have joined it. I was fortunate enough to obtain several autographed photos of her, which I will now cherish."

"Just wanted to let you know that Amie is buried at Grace Memorial Park in Plaquemine, Louisiana. It was said that other country stars attended the wake during the time the family was able to have a few minutes with the body. There is a candle or some sort of flame always burning on her grave every time I go by there [Dec. 1997]. Someone said that it is called an eternal flame. The accident happened in Slidell, LA which is about 1 1/2 hours from Brusly, LA."
