"I am a local
country singer in Florida. I bought a karakoe tape for a song done by another
country singer and it just so happened that one of Amie's songs was on that
tape. The song was "Who's She To You." I found I didn't like the song
I had originally bought the tape for. So I decided to listen to the other three
songs on that tape. Come to find out "Who's She To You" was the best
song on that whole tape. I learned the song and started performing it in my
shows. People here just love it. I love it. I can't say I have ever heard her
sing, because I haven't, but now I wish I could. It's sad when a young life is
taken away before it's time. I am thankful to Amie and whoever wrote that song.
I called our local country radio station and they said they didn't have anything
by Amie. I am now trying to get one of my songs out on radio and it is
tough...so I know what she was going through. I'm sure the family has suffered
also. I just wanted to let you know that as long as I am singing I will sing
'Who's She To You' at all my shows and bookings. Thank you for putting up these
pages of her life so I can at least get to know her a little and know something
about her music."

"Playing around on the computer today [Dec. 2002], I came across Amie's web site and
found out what happened to such a beautiful, talented, young woman. I have to say when her first album came out I loved her music. And to be honest, I thought as a young man, what a very pretty and exciting person to watch sing country music. I had no idea that Amie had been in a car wreck. I want to send all my love to her family and friends, because I remember how much I loved her music and wondered what happend to her. I wish country radio would play more of her music - not because she isn't with us any more - but because she had such a great talent and voice. She deserves to be heard and remembered."We will miss you Amie!

"I am 16 years old and I love Amie so much and her music. I got to meet her and got her autograph.
She is a nice person. Today is Dec. 21, 2002 and I was thinking about her all day ... and thinking about when I had heard the horrible news. I go visit her every now and then at Grace Memorial where she is buried. She was very beautiful and I look up to her and hope to become a singer one day... I also want to thank you for having this website!! I will never forget her. I LOVE AND MISS YOU AMIE."

"I was a big fan of Amie's. And I was very saddened to hear of her sudden, and very unexpected, death,
as I am whenever someone from my home state passes away. She left us way too soon. I never had the opportunity to see her perform live, but I certainly would have loved to have seen her. She would have been the best country music singer to ever come out of the great state of Louisiana. May her memory live forever."Sincerely,

"I never found a web site that told a lot about Amie before and now I have found one I will be visiting it more often. I listen to her first album all the time. I remember getting her album and I listened to it and I liked it right away. I was a fan of her's as soon as I heard her pretty voice. I didn't find out the news that she left, until I was reading a country music magazine and I read a article about Amie having a fatal car accident. I felt very bad about it. I myself had been in a couple car accidents and I always wondered why the good ones are always leaving us way before their time. I also realized that we are not guaranteed tomorrow and we should live each day like our last. For some reason I liked her voice, which sounded very mature and with a perfect harmony. I like the song she sings called 'You Belong To Me.' I have heard that song done by some different artists but none of them do the song like Amie does. I am very sorry she is gone. As I read through the memorials of her, I can't say much. I hope she knows that she is missed dearly and she has fans that continue to miss her and her music."

“I am a guitarist (shown in left-hand picture on the right) and in Autumn 1997 I was privileged to be a part of Amie's backing band when she toured Scotland. During the time she was here, she impressed us all with her enthusiasm and sheer energy. We had rehearsed her material well before she arrived and when we finally rehearsed with her we were boiled over by her presence – even in the rehearsal room. It was with great shock and sadness that we learned of her death. She was due to return the following year and we were scheduled to tour Europe with her.” (View pictures from the concert).

"I
worked with Amie in October of 1997 when Amie, accompanied by her Uncle Vince,
toured with us on several gigs based in Scotland. Needless to say we all got to
know each other pretty well over a two week period. We all had some great
laughs. Amie was a normal, down to earth young lady with a sparkling future
ahead of her and undoubtedly the love and support of a special family behind
her. It was one of the highlights of my musical career to witness close up such
a star in the making. We enjoy talking of Amie and Vince often, and her music
will always be with us. My band and I will never forget our time with Amie and I
am so pleased to see how much other people appreciate that too." (Janette is

"Wow, I'm not sure how to start out this e-mail (message written in Dec. 2003).
Back in 1994/95 I wrote album reviews for the magazine COUNTRY FEVER and I had
the pleasure of reviewing Amie's debut CD. As soon as I got the promo tape I
joined her fan club. I still have the postcards, poster, autographed photos and
brochure. My review was in the February '95 issue. COUNTRY FEVER's final issue
was the August '95 issue. There were bios of each of the writers but none of us
knew at the time that it was the final issue. In my piece I stated which albums
I was most impressed with of the ones that I had reviewed that year and Amie's
was one of them. I had drifted away from the scene for various reasons but
recently decided that the hype had died down enough for the music to become
genuine again and I started listening to Country radio again.
Tonight I decided to do a Google search on past favorites and Amie came to mind.
I was surprised that I had not heard more about her. I was glad to find a
website devoted to her but I was a little confused when I read that it was 'in
memory' of her!
As I read farther down I literally became sick when I read about the accident
and that Amie is gone. This is the point where I don't know
what to say. There are so many thoughts all at once and none seem to form
expressible sentences. To me it's brand new even though it's been
half of a decade! How can that be? How can THIS be? What a tragic loss.
Thank you for honoring Amie with your site and for keeping it in existence for
people like me who 'catch up' too late. My all too brief memories of her are
fond ones."

"I am a local country music radio DJ in the UK and I have always championed Amie's music. I had the privilege of meeting her and her mother when they visited the UK and Amie appeared at the Americana Festival at Newark in 1997. Amie appeared at Americana which is Europe's largest American lifestyle show. The show's music attracts more than 45,000 people over the three days it's on. I met Amie on a very hot day in July -- she was very tanned and wore a pair of dugarees and sang with the Roger Humphries Band (known as Roger Humphries and Bit The Bullet) as a guest singer. Amie talked to me about coming back to the UK for a tour in the spring of the next year and was being promoted by Alan Cackett. I wrote an article on Amie for the Country Music Gazette in late 1997. I still play Amie's music on my show (I played 'You Belong To Me' on my show on March 11, 2004). Thanks again for your website dedicated to such a talented singer ..."
