Obituaries published in The Advocate on: 12/24/97 COMEAUX, AMIE NOELLE A country music recording artist with Polydor Nashville label and a resident of Brusly, she died at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997, in an automobile accident on Interstate 12 between Lacombe and Mandeville. She was 21 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, celebrated by the Rev. Eric Gyan. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Survived by parents, Carmen Wattigney and Darrell G. Comeaux Sr., Brusly; maternal grandmother, Ida Rose Wattigney, Gonzales; paternal grandmother, Rena Overstreet Comeaux, Port Allen; paternal grandfather, George E. "Mickey" Comeaux and wife, Mary Conerly Comeaux, Port Allen; two brothers, Darrell "Lil-D" Comeaux Jr., Baton Rouge, and Mickey Joseph Comeaux, Brusly; two godchildren, Megan Michelle Blanchard, Port Allen, and Christen Amber Gaudet, Addis; maternal aunts and uncles, Louis and Anna Marie Cornwell Wattigney, New Orleans, Joseph "Joey" Wattigney Jr., Houston, Eva and Eugene Francois, New Orleans, and Cecil and Maureen Fitzgerald, Houston; paternal aunts and uncles, Cheryl and Lannie Dedeaux, Port Allen, June and Don Dupree, Plaquemine, and Vince Larry Comeaux, Port Allen; and numerous cousins and friends. Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Joseph Angelo Wattigney Sr. Pallbearers will be Cecil Wattigney, Scott Hunt, Dustin Adams, Ryan Fabre, Derek Blanchard and Vince Comeaux. She sang at numerous community events, including weddings, many charities, Lions Clubs telethons, funerals, festivals and parish fairs. Donations may be made in her name to a favorite charity.
