Garth Brooks

My all-time favorite country song is Garth Brooks' inspirational song "The River," which can be found on his albums: The Hits and Ropin' The Wind. Other favorites by him include: Callin' Baton Rouge * Unanswered Prayers * The Dance * (all which can be found on his album The Hits.)

Other songs on his The Hits album include: * Ain't Going Down ('Til The Sun Comes Up) * The Thunder Rolls * We Shall Be Free * Two Of A Kind, Workin' On A Full House * That Summer * American Honky Tonk Bar Association * Standing Outside The Fire * Friends In Low Places * Papa Loved Mama * Rodeo * Shameless * If Tomorrow Never Comes * What She's Doing Now *

Another song by Garth that I feel should have been included on this album is "Learning to Live Again"...an excellent song!

Even though I wasn't impressed very much with Garth's album Fresh Horses, I did like three of the songs on it: "She's Every Woman," "The Change," and "Ireland." I was disappointed with Garth's album "Fresh Horses," but I was really impressed with his "Sevens" CD. The songs on it sound more like the "old Garth" that I had grown to like so well over the years. My favorite songs on this CD are the ballads "I Don't Have To Wonder" and "Belleau Wood"; the gospel tune "Fit For A King"; the upbeat, inspirational song "How You Ever Gonna Know"; and the powerful ballad "In Another's Eyes" with Trisha Yearwood.

Songlist for "Sevens" (1997):
* Longneck Bottle * How You Ever Gonna Know * She's Gonna Make It * I Don't Have To Wonder * Two Pina Coladas * Cowboy Cadillac * Fit For A King * Do What You Gotta Do (with New Grass Revival) * You Move Me * In Another's Eyes (duet with Trisha Yearwood) * When There's No One Around * Friend To Me * Take The Keys To My Heart * Belleau Wood *

Garth's single, "To Make You Feel My Love," is featured in the movie entitled "Hope Floats" starring Sandra Bullock. The video for this song, includes some scenes from the movie.

"Wild As The Wind" is another powerful duet by Garth and Trisha Yearwood. This song is only featured on his chart topping Double Live album. (Thanks Loren for these lyrics!)

Garth's song "When You Come Back To Me Again" is from the movie "Frequency" and is included on his latest album entitled "Scarecrow."

Garth teams up with Trisha Yearwood again on the single "Squeeze Me In." The song was originally only available on Garth's CD "Scarecrow," however, it has been added as a bonus track to newer copies of Trisha's album "Inside Out."

Finally, Trisha and Garth have released another great duet! Their single "Love Will Always Win" is available on Garth's album "The Lost Sessions" (only sold at Wal-Mart) and the re-issued version of Trisha's "Jasper County" CD (available Feb. 7, 2006).

Garth's latest single "More Than A Memory" broke a record when it went straight to #1 the first week it was released! It will be included on his upcoming new three-disc set called "The Ultimate Hits,"which contains 30 classics, 3 new songs and a bonus track on two CDs. The set also includes a DVD with 33 videos including new and never-before-seen footage. In stores Nov. 6, 2007.

Trisha Yearwood

Since Trisha is my all-time favorite artist, her section on this page became so large that I had to turn it into its own mini-page. Come visit the Trisha Yearwood Corner! Includes lyrics to Trisha's beautiful single "Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love"! And many more including "Georgia Rain" and her duet with Garth Brooks, "Love Will Always Win."

Pam Tillis

Album: "Sweetheart's Dance"

One of the things I like about Pam Tillis is her distinctive, enthusiastic voice that's hard to mistake for someone else. My favorite songs from this album include: "When You Walk In The Room," "In Between Dances," and "I Was Blown Away."

Songlist: * Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life) * Sweetheart's Dance * Calico Plains * When You Walk In The Room * Spilled Perfume * I Was Blown Away * They Don't Break 'Em Like They Used To * In Between Dances * Better Off Blue * 'Til All The Lonely's Gone (a gospel song which also includes her father Mel Tillis) *

Songlist for "All Of This Love": * Deep Down * Mandolin Rain * Sunset Red and Pale Moonlight * It's Lonely Out There * The River and The Highway * You Can't Have a Good Time Without Me * Betty's Got a Bass Boat * Tequila Mockingbird * No Two Ways About It * All Of This Love * (Thanks Sarah for these lyrics!)

Pam released a Greatest Hits album that includes two new songs: "All The Good Ones Are Gone" and "Land Of The Living." If you have been feeling like you're living under a dark cloud, "Land Of The Living" is a great song to help pull you back out of it. Again, more fine songs by a fine artist! (Thanks Loren for most of these lyrics!)

The upbeat song "I Said A Prayer" is from Pam's album entitled "Every Time." I really like the title track "Every Time."

Faith Hill

Faith Hill's debut album was "Take Me As I Am." I wasn't real crazy over many of the songs on this album at first, but over time I've changed my opinion - this album is great overall. From the first time I heard the title track "Take Me As I Am" and the second track "Wild One," I have loved them. The song "Take Me As I Am" is about a girl who wants people to accept her for who she is and not what others think she should be like. I think Faith Hill is singing this song about herself personally and strongly identifies with it - that's one reason I like the song so much, because I also identify with it! "Piece of My Heart" is another nice song from the album.

Songlist for "Take Me As I Am" (1993): * Take Me As I Am * Wild One * Just About Now * Piece Of My Heart * I've Got This Friend * Life's Too Short To Love Like That * But I Will * Just Around The Eyes * Go The Distance * I Would Be Stronger Than That * (Thanks Elizabeth for these lyrics!)

The album "It Matters To Me" was Faith's second effort. Overall, I think it's a nice album. The title song "It Matters To Me" is my favorite, but I also really like the songs "Someone Else's Dream" and "You Can't Lose Me." The song "You Can't Lose Me" has special meaning to Faith, because it describes her feelings toward her own mom. Faith dedicated it to her.

Songlist for "It Matters To Me" (1995): * Someone Else's Dream * Let's Go To Vegas * It Matters To Me * Bed Of Roses * A Man's Home Is His Castle * You Can't Lose Me * I Can't Take It Anymore * A Room In My Heart * You Will Be Mine * Keep Walkin' On (a spirited gospel duet with Shelby Lynne)* (Thanks Loren for most of these lyrics!)

Songlist for "Faith" (1998): * This Kiss * You Give Me Love * Let Me Let Go * Love Ain't Like That * Better Days * My Wild Frontier * The Secret of Life * Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me (with Tim McGraw) * Me * I Love You * The Hard Way * Somebody Stand by Me * (Thanks Sarah for these lyrics!)

Songlist for "Cry" (2002): * Free * Cry * One * When the Lights Go Down * Beautiful * Unsaveable * Baby You Belong * If You're Gonna Fly Away * Stronger * I Think I Will * Back To You * This Is Me * If This Is The End * You're Still Here * (Thanks Elizabeth for these lyrics!)

Faith's #1 autobiographical single "Mississippi Girl" is from her new album titled "Fireflies."

Songlist for "Fireflies" (release date - Aug. 2, 2005): * Sunshine and Summertime * Mississippi Girl * Dearly Beloved * Ain't Gonna Take It Anymore * Stealing Kisses * Fireflies * Like We Never Loved At All (featuring Tim McGraw) * I Want You * The Lucky One * If You Ask * We've Got Nothing But Love To Prove * You Stay With Me * A Wish for You * Paris (bonus track) *

The video for her new single "Like We Never Loved At All" features her husband Tim McGraw and is being played now on CMT, GAC and V1 Country. Visit CMT's artist site to view the full-length video online.

Listen to full-length audio streams of all 14 tracks of the new "Fireflies" album at Best Buy's spotlight page. The streams will be available for only a limited time.

Other songs by Faith: * There You'll Be (from the movie "Pearl Harbor") * Breathe * The Way You Love Me * Let's Make Love (duet with Tim McGraw)* Where Are You Christmas (from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" soundtrack) * Where You Lead (from "Tapestry Revisited: A Tribute to Carole King") * Since I Laid Eyes on You (from the "Mr. Wrong" soundtrack) * Who I Am (from the "Mad About You" soundtrack) * Part Of Your World (from the "Prince of Egypt" soundtrack) * When You Cry (from "Touched By An Angel" soundtrack) * 'Til I Can Make It On My Own (from Tammy Wynette's Tribute Album) * Trying To Get To You (from "It's Now or Never: A Tribute To Elvis") * (Thanks Elizabeth for these lyrics!)

Tim McGraw

Tim McGraw's music first caught my attention with his album "Not A Moment Too Soon." It soon became one of my favorites -- especially with the emotionally touching song "Don't Take The Girl." Other songs I really like are "Down On The Farm" and "Not A Moment Too Soon."

Songlist for "Tim McGraw" (debut CD): * Welcome To The Club * Two Steppin Mind * The Only Thing That I Have Left * You Can Take It With You (When You Go) * Ain't No Angels * Memory Lane * Tears In The Rain * What She Left Behind * What Room Was The Holiday In * I Keep It Under My Hat * (Thanks Elizabeth for these lyrics!)

Songlist for "Not A Moment Too Soon" (1994):* It Doesn't Get Any Countrier Than This * Give It To Me Strait * Wouldn't Want It Any Other Way * Down On The Farm * Not A Moment Too Soon * Indian Outlaw * Refried Dreams * Don't Take The Girl * 40 Days And 40 Nights * Ain't That Just Like A Dream *

"All I Want" is his third album and I think it's really a well-done piece! The songs on this album range from slow emotional ones to really upbeat hits. There's not really a song on it that I don't like!! My favorites are his #1 hits "I Like It, I Love It," "Can't Be Really Gone" and "All I Want Is A Life."

Songlist for "All I Want" (1995): * All I Want Is A Life * She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart * Can't Be Really Gone * Maybe We Should Just Sleep On It * I Didn't Ask And She Didn't Say * Renegade * I Like It, I Love It * The Great Divide * You Got The Wrong Man * Don't Mention Memphis * When She Wakes Up (And Finds Me Gone) * That's Just Me * (Thanks Loren for most of these lyrics!)

Tim McGraw's fourth album entitled "Everywhere" is well put together. All six of the singles released from it became hits.

Song list for "Everywhere" (1997): * Where The Green Grass Grows * For a Little While * It's Your Love (duet with Faith Hill) * Ain't That the Way It Always Ends * I Do But I Don't * One Of These Days * Hard On The Ticker * Everywhere * Just to See You Smile * You Just Get Better All the Time * You Turn Me On * (Thanks Elizabeth for most of these lyrics! Lyrics for "It's Your Love" contributed by Joe Cavallaro.)

Tim McGraw's CD entitled "A Place In The Sun" was released on May 4, 1999. The first single "Please Remember Me" reached #1 on the charts within weeks, making it one of his fastest rising singles ever. After only listening to the album one time, it's obviously a well-produced piece of work. The 14-track CD features a wide range of emotions and tempos, including some "traditional" country sounding tunes. There isn't a filler song on it. In addition to the sad single "Please Remember Me," the other songs that especially caught my attention are: "My Best Friend," "Somebody Must Be Prayin' For Me" and the title track "A Place In The Sun."

Songlist for "A Place In The Sun" (1999): * The Trouble With Never * Seventeen * She'll Have You Back * Somebody Must Be Prayin' For Me * My Best Friend * Senorita Margarita * Some Things Never Change * You Don't Love Me Anymore * Something Like That * Please Remember Me * Carry On * My Next Thirty Years * Eyes Of A Woman * A Place In The Sun *

Songlist for "Set This Circus Down" (2001): * The Cowboy In Me * Telluride * You Get Used To Somebody * Unbroken * Things Change * Angel Boy * Forget About Us * Take Me Away From Here * Smilin' * Set This Circus Down * Angry All The Time * Let Me Love You * Grown Men Don't Cry * Why We Said Goodbye *

Songlist for "Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors" (2002): * Comfort Me * Tickin' Away * Home * Red Ragtop * That's Why God Made Mexico * Watch The Wind Blow By * Illegal * Sleep Tonight * I Know How To Love You Well * Sing Me Home * Who Are They * Real Good Man * All We Ever Find * Tiny Dancer *

Tim performs "The Ride" at the end of his video for "Real Good Man." The extended version of this video was shown on CMT.

(Thanks Elizabeth for these lyrics!)

Songlist for "Live Like You Were Dying" (release date - Aug. 24, 2004): * How Bad Do You Want It * My Old Friend * Can't Tell Me Nothin' * Old Town New * Live Like You Were Dying * Drugs Or Jesus * Back When * Something's Broken * Open Season On My Heart * Everybody Hates Me * Walk Like A Man * Blank Sheet Of Paper * Just Be Your Tear * Do You Want Fries With That * Kill Myself * We Carry On * (Thanks Elizabeth for these lyrics!)

Alan Jackson

The thing I like most about Alan Jackson is that he continues to stick to traditional country music, regardless of what other artists are doing. "Who I Am" is one of my favorite albums of his. I really like most of the songs on it! Alan's "Drive" CD (cover shown left) features the awesome, heart-felt song "Where Were You."

Songlist for "Who I Am": * Summertime Blues * Livin' On Love * Hole In The Wall * Gone Country * Who I Am * You Can't Give Up On Love * I Don't Even Know Your Name * Song For The Life * Thank God For The Radio * All American Country Boy * Job Description * If I Had You * Let's Get Back To Me And You *

Songlist for "Greatest Hits Collection": * Chattahoochee * Gone Country * She's Got the Rhythm (And I Got The Blues) * Midnight In Montgomery * Tall, Tall Trees * Chasin' That Neon Rainbow * I'll Try * Don't Rock The Jukebox * Livin' On Love * Summertime Blues * Love's Got A Hold On You * Who Says (You Can't Have It All) * Home * Wanted * I Don't Even Know Your Name * Dallas * Here In The Real World * Someday * Mercury Blues * I'd Love You All Over Again * (The "Greatest Hits" lyrics contributed by Ben in Belgium and Elizabeth.)

Songlist for "When Somebody Loves You" (2000): * Meat and Potato Man * When Somebody Loves You * The Thrill Is Back * www.Memory * Where I Come From * I Still Love You * Life Or Love * A Love Like That * It's Alright To Be A Redneck * Maybe I Should Stay Here * Three Minute Positive Not Too Country Up-temp Love Song *

Alan Jackson and George Strait sing about the dying art of traditional country music in their duet entitled "Murder On Music Row." Only a few radio stations played the song. I guess it was just "too country" for country radio these days, which was a shame. Lee Ann Womack lends her voice to the background vocals. The song can be found on George's album "Latest, Greatest, Straitest Hits."

Alan debuted a song called "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)" during the 2001 CMA Awards that were aired live on CBS on Nov. 7. This song is about all of the thoughts that have been running through his mind since the September 11th tragedy in the United States. I think it is an awesome song.

Songlist for "Drive" (2002): * Drive (For Daddy Gene) * A Little Bluer Than That * Bring On The Night * Work In Progress * The Sounds * Designated Drinker (duet with George Strait) * Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)[studio version] * That'd Be Alright * Once In A Lifetime Love * When Love Comes Around * I Slipped And Fell In Love * First Love * Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)[live version] *

Alan's hit-single "Remember When" is from his "Greatest Hits Collection, Vol. II" album.

Alan sings about how a tragic lost can really hurt and test even a strong man's faith in his single "Monday Morning Church." Patty Loveless sings the background vocals on it. The full-length video may be viewed at CMT's artist page.

Songlist for "What I Do" (release date - Sept. 7, 2004): * Too Much of a Good Thing * You Don't Have To Paint Me A Picture * If French Fries Were Fat Free * Rainy Day In June * USA Today * There Ya Go * Burnin' The Honky Tonks Down * Monday Morning Church * Strong Enough * If Love Was A River * To Do What I Do * The Talkin' Song Repair Blues *

"I Only Want You For Christmas" is from Alan's first holiday album entitled "Honky-tonk Christmas." The title track from his second Christmas CD is titled "Let It Be Christmas."

Shania Twain

The thing I like best about this album is Shania's distinctive voice, along with the upbeat sound of her music. My favorite songs on this album are definitely "Any Man Of Mine," "The Woman In Me(Needs The Man In You)," and "(If You're Not In It For Love) I'm Outta Here."

Songlist for "The Woman In Me": * Home Ain't Where His Heart Is (Anymore) * Any Man Of Mine * Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under * (If You're Not In It For Love) I'm Outta Here * The Woman In Me (Needs The Man In You) * Is There Life After Love? * If It Don't Take Two * You Win My Love * Raining On Our Love * Leaving Is The Only Way Out * No One Needs To Know * God Bless The Child (a gospel praise song)* (Thanks Ashley for the lyrics!)

"God Bless The Child" (Extended Single Version)

A couple years after the release of Shania's "The Woman In Me" CD, I listened to her debut self-titled album that came out in 1993. Most people may have never heard of it, because it didn't sell well. Overall, I have to agree that it is a weak album. The enthusiasm and feeling that are found throughout the songs on the album "The Woman In Me" is definitely missing here. I think one reason is the songs themselves. All of the songs on this album were written by someone else, where as, on her second album, she either wrote or co-wrote every song with her husband/producer Mutt Lange. I also think that her new producer Lange made a big difference in her recent success. Any way, there were two songs from her debut album that I really liked - "What Made You Say That" and "Dance With The One That Brought You."

Songlist for "Come On Over": * Man! I Feel Like a Woman! * I'm Holdin' On to Love (To Save My Life) * Love Gets Me Every Time * Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You) * From This Moment On (guest vocal: Bryan White) * Come On Over * When * Whatever You Do! Don't! * If You Wanna Touch Her, Ask! * You're Still the One * Honey, I'm Home * That Don't Impress Me Much * Black Eyes, Blue Tears * I Won't Leave You Lonely * Rock This Country! * You've Got A Way * (Thanks Kaitlin for these lyrics!)

Shania gets more "countrified" on her latest single "I Ain't No Quitter," which is one of the three new tracks on her Greatest Hits CD that was released in November 2004.

Paul Brandt

Paul Brandt is a Canadian artist who debuted with the album entitled "Calm Before The Storm." I was quite impressed with this album. Paul Brandt is not only a great singer, but also a talented songwriter. He wrote or co-wrote a lot of the songs on his album and I think that they are the strongest songs on it. My favorites are "My Heart Has A History," "I Do" (which is a song that he wrote for a friend's wedding) and "I Meant To Do That."

Songlist for "Calm Before The Storm": * My Heart Has A History * Take It From Me * I Do * 12 Step Recovery * I Meant To Do That * One And Only One * All Over Me * Calm Before The Storm * On The Inside * Pass Me By (If You're Only Passing Through) *

Songlist for "Outside The Frame": * Chain Reaction * A Little In Love * What's Come Over You * One * I Believe You * Yeah! * We Are The One * Start Forever Over Again * Dry Eye * Outside The Frame *
(Thanks Elizabeth for these lyrics!)

Bryan White

Album: "Between Now And Forever"

Overall, I think Bryan's second effort is a great album! As an artist, I feel like he really puts his feelings and emotions into most of his songs and that is what makes them so great. From what I've heard, this album is more upbeat overall than his first album. One of the things I like about Bryan White besides his music and songwriting abilities is his personality. He is a sweet and honest guy who you would never see getting off a tour bus with a beer can in his hand and keeps his concerts open to people of all ages. These characteristics are hard to find in this world.

My favorite songs from this album are the upbeat songs "Sittin' On Go" and "So Much For Pretending," and the slower song "Between Now And Forever." I'm not real crazy over the song "Still Life" though.

Songlist: * Sittin' On Go * Still Life * Blindhearted * Nickel In The Well * I'm Not Supposed To Love You Any More * So Much For Pretending * Between Now and Forever * A Hundred And One * On Any Given Night * That's Another Song * (Thanks Loren for most of these lyrics!)

Deana Carter

Album: "Did I Shave My Legs For This?"

Nashville native Deana Carter finally got her break into the country music world with her hit "Strawberry Wine" and the upbeat song "We Danced Anyway." Despite the crazy sounding album title, I was really impressed with this entire CD. For the most part, I never get tired of listening to this album.

My favorite songs from this CD include "Strawberry Wine" (of course), "We Danced Anyway," "How Do I Get There," and the upbeat track "If This Is Love."

Songlist: *I've Loved Enough To Know * We Danced Anyway * Count Me In * If This Is Love * Love Ain't Worth Making * Before We Ever Heard Goodbye * How Do I Get There * Strawberry Wine * That's How You Know It's Love * Did I Shave My Legs For This? * To The Other Side *

Songlist for "Everything's Gonna Be Alright": * You Still Shake Me * Ruby Brown * Absence of the Heart * Brand New Key * Michelangelo Sky * People Miss Planes * Never Comin' Down * Make Up Your Mind * Colour Everywhere * Angels Working Overtime * Dickson County * The Train Song * Everything's Gonna Be Alright (written by her father Fred Carter, Jr.) * (Thanks Loren for these lyrics!)

Songlist for "I'm Just A Girl" (release date - March 18, 2003): * I'm Just A Girl * There's No Limit * You And Tequila * Me And The Radio * Cover Of A Magazine * Wildflower * Twice As Worth It * Eddie * Waiting (features Dwight Yoakam) * Liar * Goodbye Train * Girls' Night *

"Once Upon A December" is from the "Anastasia" movie soundtrack.

Travis Tritt

Album: "The Restless Kind"

Travis Tritt, who is a native of my home state of Georgia, has a stronger country sound on this album, even though he doesn't lose the high energy sound from his past albums. Again, like he did in the past, he can really hit it with deep sounding ballads. The majority of the songs on this album Tritt either wrote or co-wrote himself.

My favorite song from this album is "Where the Corn Don't Grow," but I also like "More Than You'll Ever Know" and "She's Goin' Home With Me." (Hey Gary, here's your answer to "Where's the Travis Tritt?"... :) )

Songlist: * Restless Kind * Still In Love With You * More Than You'll Ever Know * Draggin' My Heart Around * Helping Me Get Over You (duet with Lari White) * Back Up Against The Wall * Double Trouble (duet with Marty Stuart) * Did You Fall Far Enough * She's Going Home With Me * Sack Full of Stones * Where The Corn Don't Grow *

After a leave of absence for a few years, Travis made a major come-back in the country music world with the release of his album entitled "Down The Road I Go," which includes the #1 single "Best Of Intentions."

Patty Loveless teams up with Travis on the tune "Out Of Control Raging Fire." The song is featured on Patty's "Mountain Soul" bluegrass album.

Vince Gill

Album: "When Love Finds You"

This is my favorite album by Vince Gill. I especially like the ballads "Whenever You Come Around," "When Love Finds You," "If There's Anything I Can Do" and the spiritual song "Go Rest High On That Mountain."

Songlist: *Whenever You Come Around * You Better Think Twice * Real Lady's Man * What The Cowgirls Do * When Love Finds You * If There's Anything I Can Do * South Side Of Dixie * Maybe Tonight * Which Bridge To Cross (Which Bridge To Burn) * If I Had My Way * Go Rest High On That Mountain(a gospel song written by Vince) * (Thanks Loren for these lyrics!)

LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn Rimes debuted on the music scene with quite a start. She got her early start at the age of 13 with the song "Blue." "Blue" really made listeners take notice with its refreshing, more traditional country sound (something you don't hear on radio these days) along with LeAnn's unique yodeling sound. When her album of the same name came out, it went straight to #1 and stayed there for months. Her second album that followed, "Unchained Melody: The Early Years," also went to the top. She landed her first #1 single with "One Way Ticket."

While I didn't really care much for "The Early Years" album (it consisted of songs that were all previously recorded before "Blue"), I really think her "Blue" CD is great. This young lady certainly seems to have a lot of future potential! My favorite song of LeAnn's is "The Light In Your Eyes," with songs "One Way Ticket (Because I Can)" and "Talk To Me" close behind.

Songlist for the album "Blue": * Blue * Hurt Me * One Way Ticket (Because I Can) * My Baby * Honestly * The Light In Your Eyes * Talk To Me * I'll Get Even With You * Cattle Call (duet with Eddy Arnold) * Good Lookin' Man * Fade To Blue * (Thanks Loren for these lyrics!)

Her follow-up album "You Light Up My Life" did well on the country, Christian and pop charts. Despite other people's negative reaction to her remake of the Debby Boone hit "You Light Up My Life," I really liked the song. I also liked the ballad "On The Side Of Angels."

LeAnn released her fourth album "Sittin' On Top Of The World" a couple of years ago. Most of the songs are quite good. The single "Commitment" did well on the country charts, while her song from the movie "A Quest For Camelot" entitled "Looking Through Your Eyes" did good on the pop charts. Videos for both of these singles were shown on CMT. Another song that I really liked from the album, was co-written by her previous touring partner Bryan White entitled " When Am I Gonna Get Over You." I especially like the song " The Heart Never Forgets" that reflects back on the past. LeAnn says this 15-track CD contains everything from really hard-core country to mainstream tunes.

Her Christmas single from several years ago is "Put A Little Holiday In Your Heart."

Kevin Sharp

Album: "Measure of a Man"

Kevin Sharp really caught my attention from the time he debuted with the sad, emotionally felt song "Nobody Knows." This was before I even knew anything about him. If you don't know his background, he is a cancer survivor. At 18, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and faced death. In 1991, a miracle happened and he went into remission. That's where he has been ever since. In 1996, he released his first album and his debut single "Nobody Knows" went to #1 for three weeks. Quite a lucky guy - and I'd say very deserving!

Overall, I think his debut CD is a great album. In listening to most of the songs, you can tell that they are very emotionally felt. I especially like the slow songs "Nobody Knows" and "Somebody's Baby." The up-tempo song "If You Love Somebody" is another favorite. The only song I didn't care much for was "Love Bomb" - it sounds more like pop/rock than country and the lyrics are lacking.

Songlist: * Measure Of A Man * Nobody Knows * If You Love Somebody * There's Only You * She's Sure Taking It Well * The Strength To Love * Love Bomb * I'm Already Loving You Too Much * Population 4000 Minus 1 * Somebody's Baby * Love At The End Of The Road *

Kevin's second album "Love Is" didn't fare as well as his debut one, but I still think it includes a lot of great songs. Some of my favorites: "If She Only Knew" and "I'm Trying." The song " Love Is All That Really Matters" was originally on the album and released as the first single. Since it didn't do well, the song was taken off the CD before it was released. I personally liked the song.

Lila McCann

One of the younger artists to hit the country scene is Lila McCann from Washington state (she debuted at age 16). Though there are many new artists out there, it is hard to mistake this girl's distinct, spirited voice that embraces you with melody and emotion. Her debut single "Down Came A Blackbird" is so different from what you typically hear on the radio that you can't help but listen to it. She can really work the lyrics of a song with her voice!

I was impressed overall with her debut album. People of all ages can relate to many of the songs on it. My favorites are "Down Came A Blackbird," "Yippy Ky Yay" (an upbeat song that she sings with sass and attitude), "Saddle My Dreams" (a catchy song about never losing hope of your dreams) and "Already Somebody's Lover" (a ballad).

Songlist for "Lila": * I Wanna Fall In Love * Just One Little Kiss * Almost Over You * Down Came A Blackbird * Already Somebody's Lover * Changing Faces (co-written by Lila) * Yippy Ky Yay * I Feel For You * Saddle My Dreams * A Rain Of Angels (a Christian Country song)*

Lila's contribution to the "Hope Floats" soundtrack was the the song entitled "To Get Me To You."

Lila's hit single "With You" is from her second album entitled "Something In The Air." I really love this entire album, especially the songs "With You," "Can You Hear Me" and "When You Walked Into My Life." Even though her voice has matured, Lila continues to choose songs that suit her voice and reflect her personality.

Songlist for "Something In The Air" (1999): * With You * I Reckon I Will * Kiss Me Now * I Will Be * Go Girl * Rhymes With * You're Gone * Crush * Something In The Air * Hit By Love * Can You Hear Me * When You Walked Into My Life *

Lila released her third album entitled "Complete" on June 26, 2001. The album features her single "Come A Little Closer." The music on this CD is a slight departure from Lila's previous work. Her vocals sound more mature and the music leans a little more toward pop-flavored country (unfortunately), but for the most part Lila's music still sounds like Lila.

Songlist for "Complete" (2001): * Where It Used To Break * Come A Little Closer * Complete * Mighty Mighty Love * Whisper The Words * Like A Rocket * Is It Just Me * She Remembers Love * Lost In Your Love * Because Of You *

Lila is finally back with new music! Her single "Go Easy On Me" has been released to radio. To listen to an audio clip of the song, go to the Broken Bow Records web site. Look for her new CD to come out June 2005.

Mindy McCready

Album: "If I Don't Stay The Night"

Even though Mindy has had three albums released, I feel her second one entitled "If I Don't Stay The Night" is her best work to date. I especially liked the tracks "This Is Me," "Cross Against The Moon" and "Long, Long Time."

Songlist: * What If I Do * This Is Me * If I Don't Stay The Night * Cross Against The Moon * For A Good Time Call * Oh Romeo * The Other Side Of This Kiss * You'll Never Know * Fine Art Of Holding A Woman * Only A Whisper * Long, Long Time *

Dixie Chicks

Album: "Wide Open Spaces"

Songlist: * I Can Love You Better * Wide Open Spaces * Loving Arms * There's Your Trouble * You Were Mine * Never Say Die * Tonight the Heartache's On Me * Let'er Rip * Once You've Loved Somebody * I'll Take Care of You * Am I The Only One (Whose Ever Felt This Way) * Give It Up or Let Me Go *

The Dixie Chicks' second album entitled "Fly" includes their hit singles "Ready To Run" and "Cowboy Take Me Away." In addition to those two songs, I really love the spunky song "If I Fall You're Going Down With Me." I personally cannot stand "Goodbye, Earl" nor do I care much for "Sin Wagon" (however, Emily's banjo pickin' is awesome on this track).

Songlist: * Ready To Run * If I Fall, You're Going Down With Me * Cowboy, Take Me Away * Cold Day In July * Goodbye, Earl * Hello, Mr. Heartache * Don't Waste Your Heart * Sin Wagon * Without You * Some Days You Gotta Dance * Hole In My Head * Heartbreak Town * Let Him Fly * (Thanks Loren for these lyrics!)

It sure is great to finally hear some new music from the Chicks!! Their bluegrass-flavored singles "Long Time Gone" and "Landslide" are on their CD called "Home."

Songlist for "Home" (release date - August 27, 2002): * Long Time Gone * Landslide * Travelin' Soldier * Truth No. 2 * White Trash Wedding * A Home * More Love * I Believe In Love * Tortured, Tangled Hearts * Lil' Jack Slade (instrumental) * Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) * Top Of The World *

Allison Moorer

Allison Moorer's crisp, southern voice creates a sound that's pure traditional country with a fresh twist. The Alabama native was first recognized in 1998 when her song "A Soft Place to Fall" was featured in the critically acclaimed movie "The Horse Whisperer."
Since then, she has released two more singles from her debut album "Alabama Song" -- "Set You Free" and the title track. Almost all of the songs on the album were either written or co-written by Allison. CMT was very good at first about showing all three of her videos, but now they seemed to have slacked. That's more than I can say for country radio stations though -- I have seldom heard her music on the radio. With her talented songwriting and unique voice, radio should be giving her the chance she deserves.

On her debut album, I find myself listening the most to the upbeat song "Set You Free," along with the heart-aching ballads "Easier To Forget" and "I Found A Letter."

Songlist for "Alabama Song" (1998): * Pardon Me * Long Black Train * Alabama Song * Call My Name * The One That Got Away (Got Away With My Heart) * I Found A Letter * Easier To Forget * Set You Free * A Soft Place To Fall * Tell Me Baby * Is Heaven Good Enough For You *

Songlist for "The Hardest Part" (2000): * The Hardest Part * Day You Said Goodbye * It's Time I Tried * Best That I Can Do * Think It Over * Bring Me All Your Lovin' * Is It Worth It * Send Down An Angel * No Next Time * Feeling That Feeling Again * Cold, Cold Earth (hidden track!)* (Thanks Loren for these lyrics!)

Songlist for "Miss Fortune" (released - August 6, 2002): * Tumbling Down * Cold In California * Let Go * Ruby Jewel * Can't Get There From Here * Steal The Sun * Up This High * Hey Jezebel * Mark My Word * No Place For A Heart * Yessirree * Going Down * Dying Breed *

Sara Evans

Missouri native Sara Evans debuted in 1997 with her first album entitled "Three Chords And The Truth." With the 1998 release of her second album, "No Place That Far," Sara finally started getting more recognition. The title track "No Place That Far" went to #1 on the charts. From sharp and sassy upbeat tunes to deep, dramatic ballads, Sara has a style that's rooted in traditional country, yet is very original. My two favorite songs from this album are "No Place That Far" and "Time Won't Tell."

Songlist for "No Place That Far": * The Great Unknown * Cryin' Game * No Place That Far (with Vince Gill) * I Thought I'd See Your Face Again * Fool, I'm A Woman * Time Won't Tell * The Knot Comes Untied * Love, Don't Be A Stranger * These Days (with Alison Krauss) * Cupid (with George Jones) * There's Only One (a gospel tune) *

If you believe female artists do not make traditional country albums anymore, think again. Sara's 1997 debut album entitled "Three Chords And The Truth" is hard-core country. I even found myself double-checking the CD's back cover to make sure that I had read the year correctly. As a lover of real country music, I found it so refreshing to listen to new, yet traditional sounding music. Unfortunately this album didn't fare well for Sara in terms of sales and the charts, so her music as moved slightly more to mainstream country. I just hope she doesn't decide to resort to the country-pop stuff that floods the radio these days. I absolutely love the hauntingly beautiful title track, as well as the fun-loving, two-stepping "If You Ever Want My Lovin'." The ballad "Unopened" portrays an inner battle between desiring to know the truth and the power of trust. "The Week The River Raged," co-written by Sara, is one of the most unique Southern gospel tunes I've ever heard.

Songlist for "Three Chords And The Truth" (1997): * True Lies * Shame About That * Three Chords And The Truth * If You Ever Want My Lovin' * Imagine That * Even Now * I Don't Wanna See The Light * I've Got A Tiger By The Tail * Unopened * Walk Out Backwards * The Week The River Raged (a gospel song) *

Sara joins the Warren Brothers on the song "That's The Beat Of A Heart," which is from the "Where The Heart Is" movie soundtrack.

Songlist for "Born To Fly" (2000): * Born To Fly * Saints and Angels * I Could Not Ask For More * I Keep Looking * I Learned That From You * Let's Dance * Why Should I Care * Four Thirty * Show Me The Way To Your Heart * You Don't * Every Little Kiss *

Sara Evans teams up with Brad Paisley on a song they co-wrote called "New Again"; the song is featured on "The Passion of The Christ" CD.

I really love Sara's #1 song, "Suds In The Bucket"; you will find the song on her album titled "Restless."

Songlist for "A Real Fine Place" (release date - Oct. 4, 2005): * Coalmine * A Real Fine Place To Start * Cheatin' * New Home Town * You'll Always Be My Baby * Supernatural * Roll Me Back In Time * The Secrets That We Keep * Bible Song * Tell Me * Missing Missouri * Momma's Night Out * These Four Walls *

Bonus tracks on the exclusive Target edition of this CD (for a limited time): * Caged * Best Days Are Coming * You * Suds in the Bucket (Live) *

The video for her recent #1 song "A Real Fine Place To Start" is being played on CMT, GAC and V1 Country. Visit CMT's artist site to view the full-length video online.

Andy Griggs

Album: "You Won't Ever Be Lonely"

"You take a good gospel singer, add a little rock'n'roll and a country song from a country boy, and you've got yourself a winning combination -- and besides, he's a good friend of mine." -- states Waylon Jennings in the liner notes of Andy Griggs' debut album "You Won't Ever Be Lonely."

Andy, a native of Monroe, Louisiana, didn't always dream of being a country star. In fact, it wasn't until after the death of his father and brother that he turned to music. I'm glad he did, because he isn't just another handsome face -- the guy has talent. He not only sings well, he sings with depth and sincerity. Despite his non-country looks, his music is definitely country. The tracks include acoustic guitars, fiddles and even a five-string banjo.
I really love the heartfelt title track, along with his second single "I'll Go Crazy" and "Shine On Me", his duet with Waylon Jennings. His hit single "She's More" stayed at the #2 position on the Billboard Singles chart for many weeks... the lovely video for it was shown on CMT and features his wife Stephanie.

Songlist: * You Made Me That Way * I'll Go Crazy * I Miss You The Most * You Won't Ever Be Lonely * Waitin' On Sundown * A Side Of Me * I Don't Know A Thing * Shine On Me (Duet With Waylon Jennings) * Ain't Done Nothin' Wrong * She's More * Ain't Livin' Long Like This *

Andy joins Coley McCabe on her first single and video entitled "Grow Young With You."

Andy's single "Tonight I Wanna Be Your Man" is from his album "Freedom," which hit the stores on July 9, 2002.

Chely Wright

Even though Chely Wright had previously released several albums, this was the first time that I finally felt the urge to get one of her CDs...and I wasn't disappointed. Her album entitled "Single White Female" impressed me. It's real country -- no mistaking it for a pop album. Most of the songs are slow ballads, but there are a few uptempo tunes mixed in. The music is more acoustic and doesn't overpower Chely's vocals...it only compliments her voice. Naturally I really like the title track, but my favorite song on the CD is "Why Do I Still Want You." The softly sung track "Unknown" and the autobiographical tune "Picket Fences" (which Chely wrote) also score high with me.

Songlist: * Single White Female * She Went Out for Cigarettes * It Was * Unknown * The Love That We Lost * The Fire * Picket Fences * Some Kind of Somethin' * Rubbin' It In * Why Do I Still Want You * (Thanks Loren for most of these lyrics!)

Chely's "Single White Female" CD impressed me, so at the advice of a friend of mine (who's quite a fan of Chely's music), I decided to buy her previous album entitled "Let Me In." My verdict? "Let Me In" is just as good as (or maybe even better than) "Single White Female." While I really like the singles released from this album ("I Already Do" and "Just Another Heartache"), the real gems are the unreleased songs. I especially love the soft, pleading ballad "Let Me In," the nostalgic "Emma Jean's Guitar," and the quiet, questioning song "10 lb. Heart." "Feelin' Single And Seein' Double," the most uptempo track, is a true country rocker that makes you want to kick-up your heels and dance.

Songlist for "Let Me In" (1997): * Your Woman Misses Her Man * Let Me In * Shut Up And Drive * Emma Jean's Guitar * I Already Do * Just Another Heartache * Is It Love Yet? * Before You Lie * Feelin' Single And Seein' Double * 10 lb. Heart * (Thanks Loren for most of these lyrics!)

Unless you have been keeping up with Chely since her debut in 1994, you may not be familiar with her first album entitled "Woman In The Moon." I wasn't aware of it until several years ago. The album is out-of-print, so it was awhile before someone found it for me at a used CD store. This album is a "hidden" gem and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Chely's voice and the sound of traditional country music. From the lyrics to the vocals to the instrumentation, each track is hard-core country. The title track and the western shuffle "Sea Of Cowboy Hats" have become two of my favorite songs. (Does anyone have the video for "Sea Of Cowboy Hats" or "Til I Was Loved By You"? I've never seen them.)

Songlist for "Woman In The Moon" (1994): * Till I Was Loved By You * He's A Good Ole Boy * Till All Her Tears Are Dry * Go On And Go * Woman In The Moon * Sea Of Cowboy Hats * I Love You Enough To Let You Go * Nobody But A Fool * He Don't Do Bars Anymore * The Last Supper *

Chely's single and video "Never Love You Enough" did quite well on the charts. The song is from her new album "Never Love You Enough," which was released on Sept. 25, 2001. The album features three songs that Chely co-wrote with Brad Paisley. It's a fine album!

Songlist for "Never Love You Enough" (2001): * Never Love You Enough * Jezebel * One Night In Las Vegas * While I Was Waiting * What If We Fly * Wouldn't It Be Cool * Her * Love Didn't Listen * For The Long Run * Horoscope * Not As In Love * Deep Down Low *

Wondering what has happened to Chely? Eager for some more of her music? Things were looking bright for Chely last year when she was signed as the flagship artist for the new independent record label, Vivaton. However, it was announced on June 24, 2004, that Chely and the label departed ways due to creative differences.

The good news is that Chely left the record company with her completed new album, which was supposed to be released on Aug. 10. For more info, read Chely's message that was posted on her official web site and sent to her fan mailing list.

Her first and only single for Vivaton, "In The Back of The Bottom Drawer" (co-written with Liz Rose and co-produced by Jeff Huskins), was released on March 22, 2004.

Chely released a special EP/DVD titled "Everything" in late 2004. This is a collection of five songs, 35 minutes of video footage and a narrated photo gallery that Chely put together especially for her fans. This is not the album that was originally supposed to be released by Vivaton. The "Everything" CD was only available through the online store at Chely.com... however, now it is available at most major rental stores (such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Tower Records) as of Nov. 16, 2004. Since the CD was released by Chely's own label and not a major label, the distribution is limited so it may take a little store searching to find one carrying it.

Songlist for "Everything" (2004): * Everything * If I Were Jackie * Love Lets Go * Scars * Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll * Back Of The Bottom Drawer *

Due to the overwhelming response from U.S. military troops overseas, Chely released the single "Bumper Of My SUV." During her most recent tour with Stars for Stripes, a non-profit organization that provides entertainment to deployed troops in remote areas, Chely gave one of the first performances of her new and un-recorded song. The bumper sticker that Chely sings about is a tribute to her brother, Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Christopher Wright, and the others who serve our country. For more info on the single, visit Chely.com.

CD cover Great news...Chely was signed to Dualtone Records on Dec. 9, 2004 and the label has released her album "The Metropolitan Hotel"! (This is the album that was previously going to be released by Chely's old label Vivaton Records.)

Songlist for "The Metropolitan Hotel" (Release date - Feb. 22, 2005): * It's The Song * Back Of The Bottom Drawer * I Got Him Ready For You * The River * Just The Way We Do It * Bumper Of My SUV * Your Shirt * Between A Mother And A Child * South Side Of Lonesome * Wheels * C'est La Vie (You Never Can Tell) * What If I Can't Say No Again *

Brad Paisley

West Virginia native Brad Paisley is quite a talented young man - from songwriting to guitar-picking to singing, he does it all well. Brad wrote or co-wrote 12 out of the 13 tracks on his debut album entitled "Who Needs Pictures." His quiet, down-to-earth personality and his strong desire to stay true to real country music impress me. Brad's two #1 songs "He Didn't Have To Be" and "We Danced" are definitely highlights on the album. He ends the album with an original instrumental called "The Nervous Breakdown" and the traditional gospel hymn "In The Garden."

Brad's sophomore album, entitled "Part II," is even more impressive than his first album. While many artists these days chose to stray away from the traditional country sound on their second albums - claiming that that they are "growing musically" - Brad proves with "Part II" that he ain't that kind of artist. Brad's sequel is heavily rooted in tradition and actually sounds more country than his first CD. I think it's an awesome album! My favorite songs on it are "Part Two," "Come On Over Tonight," "I Wish You'd Stay" and "Too Country."

Chely Wright sings backup vocals on the title track and co-wrote "Come On Over Tonight" with Brad. "Too Country" features guest appearances by George Jones, Buck Owens and Bill Anderson!

Songlist for "Who Needs Pictures" (1998): * Long Sermon * Me Neither * Who Needs Pictures * Don't Breathe * He Didn't Have To Be * It Never Woulda Worked Out Anyway * Holdin' On To You * I've Been Better * We Danced * Sleepin' On The Foldout * The Nervous Breakdown (instrumental) * Cloud Of Dust * In The Garden *

Songlist for "Part II" (2001): * Two Feet of Topsoil * I'm Gonna Miss Her * Part Two * Wrapped Around * Two People Fell in Love * Come On Over Tonight * You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive * I Wish You'd Stay * All You Really Need Is Love * Munster Rag (instrumental) * You Have That Effect On Me * Too Country * The Old Rugged Cross *

Not featured on the album...the Brad and Chely duet: "Hard To Be A Husband/Hard To Be A Wife" The song can be found on the compilation CD entitled "Backstage at the Grand Ole Opry."

Brad's song "364 Days To Go" was originally released on a compilation CD titled "Country Christmas 2001." The album included 10 songs by various country artists, including Dolly Parton, Sara Evans, Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson. The song is now available on Brad's new Christmas CD that came out October 2006.

Brad's third album titled "Mud On The Tires" features 17 tracks and was released on July 22, 2003. The CD includes his hit single "Celebrity". Brad sang a couple of new songs from this album on the CMT televised portion of the Grand Ole Opry on July 28, 2003. I instantly fell in love with the song "Little Moments"...it's very heartfelt and humorous at the same time. My other favorites from the album, include the "Hold Me In Your Arms," "The Best That I Had Goin'" and the bittersweet ballad "Somebody Knows You Now."

Songlist for "Mud On The Tires" (2003): * Mud On The Tires * Celebrity * Ain't Nothin' Like * Little Moments * That's Love * Somebody Knows You Now * Famous People * Hold Me In Your Arms (And Let Me Fall) * Whiskey Lullaby (featuring Alison Krauss) * The Best Thing That I Had Goin' * The Cigar Song * Make A Mistake * Make A Mistake With Me (instrumental) * Is It Raining At Your House * Spaghetti Western Swing (instrumental featuring Redd Volkaert) * Farther Along (gospel hymn) * Kung Pao (hidden track) *

Brad Paisley teams up with Sara Evans on a song they co-wrote called "New Again"; the song is featured on "The Passion of The Christ" CD.

Brad's album titled "Time Well Wasted" features his hit singles "She's Everything" and "The World." It includes things that fans have come to expect and love from Brad, such as a gospel song and an instrumental. It also features the lovely gospel song "When I Get Where I'm Going" with Dolly Parton.

Songlist for "Time Well Wasted" (release date - Aug. 16, 2005): * The World * Alcohol * Waitin' On A Woman * I'll Take You Back * She's Everything * You Need A Man Around Here * Out In The Parkin' Lot (with Alan Jackson) * Rainin' You * Flowers * Love Is Never-Ending * The Uncloudy Day * When I Get Where I'm Going (featuring Dolly Parton) * Easy Money * Time Warp (instrumental)* Time Well Wasted * Cornography (featuring James Burton & the Kung Pao Buckaroos) *

Songlist for "5th Gear" (release date - June 19, 2007): * All I Wanted Was A Car * Ticks * Online * Letter To Me * I'm Still A Guy * Some Mistakes * It Did * Mr. Policeman * If Love Was a Plane * Oh Love (featuring Carrie Underwood) * Better Than This * With You, Without You * Previously... (featuring Kung Pao Buckaroos - Little Jimmy Dickens, Bill Anderson and Vince Gill) * Bigger Fish To Fry (featuring Kung Pao Buckaroos - Little Jimmy Dickens, Bill Anderson and Vince Gill) * When We All Get To Heaven (gospel hymn) * Throttleneck (instrumental) *

Stephanie Beaumont

Album: "Way Over My Heart"

Unless you live in Canada or know someone who does, you may have missed out on hearing Stephanie Beaumont. Stephanie is a Canadian artist with a lovely, crystal-clear sounding voice...not only is her voice really something to hear, her songs are very original. There is just something about her voice that makes words sparkle even in her ballads. She has released two albums on a Canadian record label, including her recent album entitled "Way Over My Heart."

My favorites from the album are "Already In Way Over My Heart," "You And Me And Love" and the ballad "I've Gotta Know."

Songlist for "Way Over My Heart" (1998): * Already In Way Over My Heart * Who Says? * You And Me And Love * Whoever Said That * I'll Be Loving You * One From The Heart * It Doesn't Hurt That Much * It's Not A Matter Of Love * Let's Do Something About It * I've Gotta Know * My Greatest Love (a duet with Jeffrey Steele) * Moondust * (Loren, thanks for letting me discover Stephanie's music... and for the lyrics!)

Lee Ann Womack

From the moment I heard Lee Ann Womack's single "I Hope You Dance," I fell in love with it. However, despite the fact that I had enjoyed her previous singles as well, it took persistant pleading from a friend of mine to finally persuade me to buy the "I Hope You Dance" CD. The album in one word: awesome! This is one of those rare albums that has everything going for it: powerful lyrics, creative instrumentation and awesome vocals. If you're tired of the sappy love songs that radio loves to play these days, check out Lee Ann's music because it's packed with real-life, emotionally-charged songs. I especially like the tracks "The Healing Kind," "Lonely Too," "Stronger Than I Am,"... (heck, I could probably state the whole songlist!)

* The Healing Kind * I Hope You Dance * After I Fall * Stronger Than I Am * I Know Why The River Runs * Why They Call It Falling * Ashes By Now * Thinkin' With My Heart Again * I Feel Like I'm Forgetting Something * Lonely Too * Does My Ring Burn Your Finger * Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good * (Thanks Loren for these lyrics!)

Songlist for "Something Worth Leaving Behind" (Release date - August 20, 2002): * Something Worth Leaving Behind * I Saw Your Light * When You Gonna Run To Me * Talk to Me * Forever Everyday * Orphan Train * I Need You * You Should've Lied * He'll Be Back * Surrender * Blame It On Me * Closing This Memory Down * Something Worth Leaving Behind (remix) *

Songlist for "The Season For Romance" (Release date - Oct. 29, 2002): * The Season For Romance * Baby It's Gold Outside (duet with Harry Connick, Jr.) * Let It Snow/Winter Wonderland * Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas * Silent Night * White Christmas * Forever Christmas Eve * The Man With The Bag * The Christmas Song * What Are You Doing New Year's Eve *

Lee Ann's single "The Wrong Girl" is from her "Greatest Hits" CD that was released on May 4, 2004.

Her single "I May Hate Myself In The Morning" is on her new album titled "There's More Where That Came From" (album cover shown left). This CD has a more earthy, country sound to it than her last album.

Songlist for "There's More Where That Came From" (Release date - February 8, 2005): * There's More Where That Came From * One's A Couple * I May Hate Myself In The Morning * The Last Time * He Oughta Know That By Now * Twenty Years And Two Husbands Ago * Happiness * When You Get To Me * Painless * What I Miss About Heaven * Waiting For The Sun To Shine * Stubborn (Psalm 151) * Someone I Used To Know (hidden track) *

"I'll Be Your Whiskey" (bonus song only included with this CD at Best Buy)

Lee Ann teams up with George Strait on their heart-breaking duet titled "Good News, Bad News," which is included on George's new album "Somewhere Down In Texas."

Brad Martin

If you haven't heard of Brad Martin yet, I'm betting that you will soon. Brad, a 33-year-old from Greenfield, Ohio, has a smooth, soulful voice that embraces the heart of traditional country music. His debut single "Before I Knew Better" was officially sent to radio stations in January 2002. The song broke into Billboard's Top 40 Country Singles chart during mid-March and and peaked in the teens that summer. The video for the song debuted on CMT (Country Music Television) on March 6, 2002.

The love and talent for music runs deep in Brad's family. While growing up, Brad would listen to his father's old country records along with the music of father's own band, which still plays in the area.

In addition to singing, Brad is also a songwriter and guitarist. He co-wrote eight out of the 10 tracks on his debut album "Wings Of A Honky Tonk Angel," which was released June 18, 2002 on Epic Records. He has opened a few shows this year for Brad Paisley - not bad company for a new artist, eh? I'd say that Brad Martin could be the best new male artist to hit the country music scene since Brad Paisley debuted back in 1998.

NEWS...
Brad's last single was the song "One Of These Days" which went to radio on March 24, 2003. Unfortunately, the song didn't make it very far on the charts and the release his second album was canceled. I sure hopes things pick up for Brad again soon.
(Lyrics contributed by Palamin0@hotmail.com)

Brad made his first appearance on the televised portion of the Grand Ole Opry on June 29, 2002 on CMT (Country Music Television). Brad's father, Richard, joined him on the Opry stage that night to sing "California Blues." Brad's dad had given up his chance at a country music career in order to raise his family. However, his dad said his dream came true when Brad asked him to perform with him on the Opry.

I've heard that his record label sent some radio stations a promotional five-song CD Sampler, which included the songs: "Before I Knew Better," "That's A Woman," "On The Wings Of A Honky Tonk Angel," "The Fifth" and "Damn The Whiskey."

Miranda Lambert

Miranda is a talented young singer/songwriter/guitarist from Lindale, Texas. These days it seems like more and more female artists are moving away from the traditional sound of country music. So, when I first heard Miranda sing during the Nashville Star talent competition that aired on the USA Network in spring 2003, I was really impressed by her traditional sounding vocals. I grew to love her voice and songs with each new episode of the show, and I faithfully voted for her each week. The winner of the event received a recording contract with Sony Music Nashville. I thought Miranda deserved to win, but unfortunately she came in at third place (which ain't bad considering the fact that she competed against 8,000 people). On a brighter note... she signed a record deal with Sony Nashville in Fall 2003. I think things turned out for the best afterall, because she has by far exceeded the success of any Nashville Star winners to-date. I wish Miranda a lot of luck in the future, because I think the country music industry needs a real country gal like her.

Miranda performs a duet with Buddy Jewell (winner of Nashville Star, Season 1) on his debut album called "Today I Started Loving You Again."

The following are lyrics for some of her original songs that she performed on Nashville Star. These lyrics were compiled while listening to the show, so some words may or may not be totally accurate. If you notice any errors, please let me know.
"Between You and Your Memory" | "Greyhound Bound For Nowhere" | "Oh California"

Miranda's first single titled "Me And Charlie Talking" was released to radio on Oct. 4, 2004. Billboard reported Monday, Oct. 11, that Miranda set an all time record for a female single debut with "Me and Charlie Talking." The chart slated the single at No. 43 while R & R (Radio and Records) charted the debut track entering the top 40 at No. 40 during the first week of play!

Miranda wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 12 songs on her debut album titled "Kerosene," including the first single. The original plan was to have three additional songs as bonus tracks on the album at certain stores. However, they decided that the songs were just too good to only be offered on certain copies of the album... so "New Strings" was added to this CD and "I Don't Love Here Anymore" (written by Miranda and Heather Little) has been held for a future album. "Oh California," a song she performed on Nashville Star, is only sold as a bonus track with the "Me And Charlie Talking" single at iTunes.com. I was personally hoping that "Between You And Your Memory" (also called "Tea Glass Of Wine") would be available, but it's been saved for hopefully a future album as well since it's not on her second CD afterall.

Songlist for "Kerosene" (release date - March 15, 2005): * Kerosene * What About Georgia * Greyhound Bound For Nowhere * New Strings * I Can't Be Bothered * Bring Me Down * Me And Charlie Talking * I Wanna Die * Love's Looking For You * Mama, I'm Alright * There's A Wall * Love Your Memory *

Miranda's second single was "Bring Me Down." The song is about trying to let go of a relationship that she knows is not healthy for her and realizing that it's time to stop letting the guy bring her down. Even though it's tough, she realizes that it's better to be alone than to stay with the wrong guy for the wrong reason.

"Love" has treated her wrong and she ain't gonna take it sitting down... find out what happens in the video for her hit single "Kerosene"....the video is being shown on CMT, CMT Pure Country and GAC, and may be viewed online at CMT's artist site. You also can view interviews and home videos of Miranda on that site (the home videos are also included on the DualDisc version of her album "Kerosene").

"New Strings" was the follow-up single to her hit song "Kerosene" (I absolutely love both of these songs!). Watch her beautiful video for this song at CMT.com.

The first taste of music from Miranda's second CD was when she performed a a smashing debut of the rocking country song "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" at the CMA 2006 awards. Her current single is a tune she co-wrote called "Famous In A Small Town"...the song is currently being played on radio and the video may be viewed online at CMT.com or check out the "Bootleg" cut with behind the scenes footage on YouTube.com.

Songlist for "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (release date - May 1, 2007): * Gunpowder & Lead * Dry Town * Famous In A Small Town * Crazy Ex-Girlfriend * Love Letters * Desperation * More Like Her * Down * Guilty In Here * Getting Ready * Easy From Now On *

** Bonus tracks (available only for a limited time):
Target (in-store only; included with album) - "I Just Really Miss You" and "Take It Out On Me"
Best Buy (digital download on specially marked CDs)- "Nobody's Used To Be"
iTunes - "Girl Like Me"

Billy Currington

Billy Currington is a 33-year-old singer/songwriter from the small town of Rincon in south Georgia (my home state!). His emotional debut song "Walk A Little Straighter" made it to Billboard's Top-20 Country Singles chart. Billy co-wrote the autobiographical song, which tells the heartbreaking story of a kid seeing his alcoholic dad stumble through the door...the kid vows to not make that same mistake when he grows up and loves his dad anyway. Billy credits Merle Haggard, George Strait and Keith Whitley has some of his influences. He co-wrote 10 of the 11 tracks on his first self-titled album, which was released on Mercury Nashville Records. His second hit single was "I Got A Feelin'", followed by his duet with Shania Twain titled "Party For Two." For audio clips of all the debut album's songs and clips of his videos, check out his official site.

Songlist for his debut CD (Release date: Sept. 30, 2003): * I Got A Feelin' * That's Just Me * Hangin' Around * Off My Rocker * Walk A Little Straighter * Where The Girls Are * Time With You * When She Gets Close To Me * Growin' Up Down There * Next Time * Ain't What It Used To Be *

Josh Turner

In Summer 2003, I was flipping between radio stations, when I heard the song "Long Black Train." I immediately stopped and listened... the singer's deep, rich vocals and the inspirational message of the song's lyrics really intrigued me. I instantly fell in love with it. The song sounded so different from everything else on country radio. It's very rare that a new artist will try to launch their career with a country gospel song, so I think that says a lot about the kind of guy Josh Turner is. I bought his CD based on this song alone and I was not disappointed. I highly recommend it. While the title track continues to be my favorite on this album, I also really like the ballad "In My Dreams," the autobiographical tune "Backwoods Boy" and the uptempo song "Good Woman Bad."

Songlist for "Long Black Train" (2003): * Long Black Train * In My Dreams * I Know What It Ain't * I Had One One Time * Jacksonville * Backwoods Boy * Unburn All Our Bridges * You Don't Mess Around With Jim * She'll Go On You * Good Woman Bad * The Difference Between A Woman and A Man *

Josh landed his first #1 song with the single "Just To Be Your Man"... and his second CD titled "Your Man" debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart! His next single is "Would You Go With Me."

Songlist for "Your Man" (release date -- Jan. 24, 2006): * Would You Go With Me * Baby's Gone Home To Mama * No Rush * Your Man * Loretta Lynn's Lincoln * White Noise * Angels Fall Sometimes * Lord Have Mercy On A Country Boy * Me And God (duet with Ralph Stanley)* Gravity * Way Down South *

Jessi Alexander

Jessi's sweet southern vocals really impressed me the first time I heard her music. Her father (who is a painter and musician) named her after singer Jessi Colter, the wife of the late Waylon Jennings. Jessi's debut single "Honeysuckle Sweet" paints a vivid picture of the carefree summers she spent as a child growing up along the Tennessee River. The song's message is bittersweet... even though things change over time and may never be the same again, you need to remember that fond memories are not completely gone as along as you keep them in your dreams and close to your heart.

Her debut album titled "Honeysuckle Sweet" is tentatively scheduled to be released by Sony Nashville in early 2005. All of the songs are written or co-written by Jessi. Gary Nicholson and Jessi co-produced the album with Mark Wright as the executive producer. Her follow-up single was "Make Me Stay Or Make Me Go"... her new single and video "Canyon Prayer" came out in February 2005.

Songlist for "Honeysuckle Sweet" (release date: March 1, 2005): * Honeysuckle Sweet * Make Me Stay Or Make Me Go * This World Is Crazy * I'd Run Right Back To You * Holding Back Your Love * Unfulfilled * Make It Feel Right * Everywhere * Reasons To Run * The Long Way * Canyon Prayer (Til I Turn To You) *

Read Jessi's comments about each of the songs on the Shore Fire Clients page.

George Canyon

George is more than just a handsome guy in a cowboy hat... this Canadian is quite an accomplished songwriter who knows how to vividly portray emotion in any song he sings. That's why he was my personal pick as the winner of the Nashville Star II talent competition that was shown on the USA Network this past spring. George ended up in second place (Brad Cotter won). If he had won the competition, Sony would have released his upbeat tune "That Girl Inside My Head" to radio. But things have still turned out well for him... on June 14, 2004, he was signed to Universal South Records!

His debut single "I'll Never Do Better Than You" was released to radio at the end of August 2004. This was his first single to be released in the U.S. His new CD titled "One Good Friend" came out in the U.S. and Canada on Sept. 28, 2004, and I think it is a great album. I especially like the sad, yet hopeful ballad "Bird In December" and the heart-felt title track.

Songlist for "One Good Friend": Who Would You Be * Unfinished * Working On Ten * My Name * I'll Never Do Better Than You * Hell or High Water * Letting Go * You're In The Right Place * Bird In December * One Good Friend *

The single's video was shot in Alberta, Canada and is being shown on CMT and GAC. The video, which features his wife and two kids, portrays a father taking his pre-teen daughter to a rodeo and reflecting on when she was younger.

Previously George had enjoyed some chart success in Canada and his videos were played on CMT Canada. These songs are from his self-titled CD that was released on an independent record label. This album is only available online and in Canada.

Songlist for "George Canyon" (1997): * My Love's Unchanged * I'll Burn That Bridge * Love To Burn * Scotia Home * Ironwolf * The Shaft * Way Too Much * Angelyna * Enough Said * Her Everything * Good Day To Ride *

SHeDAISY

Album: "Brand New Year"

Often times artists' Christmas albums are just a rehashing of familiar holiday songs. While there is nothing wrong with those albums, they usually lack the sparkle and originality found on their regular albums. However, SHeDAISY's Christmas album entitled "Brand New Year" is anything but typical.

Sisters Kassidy, Kelsi and Kristyn Osborn make up the group known as SHeDAISY. Their innovative ways of layering vocals and lyrics carry over from their debut album "The Whole Shebang" to their Christmas music. The album includes several original songs co-written by Kristyn, along with SHeDAISY-fied arrangements of familiar and not-so-familiar holiday songs.

The gals joyfully alternate their vocals on "Deck The Halls." The song was originally done for Disney's release of "Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas." Be sure to look for SHeDAISY's video of "Deck The Halls" on CMT! Santa turns into a hot, handsome hunk on the tune "Santa's Got A Brand New Bag."

Sometimes the only "present" that a person yearns for at Christmas is one that is priceless...such as winning the heart of a certain guy or girl... "That's What I Want For Christmas." These gals add spice to the traditional song "Jingle Bells" by turning it into a romantic melody that depicts a cozy sleigh ride on a frosty, moonlit night.

"What Child Is This" portrays the true meaning of Christmas. "The Secret of Christmas" quietly reminds you that it's not the things that you do at Christmas time, but the Christmas things that you do all year.

Don't immediately stop your CD player when the song "Brand New Year" ends, because you'll miss the hidden track! After a brief period of silence, you will hear the gals softly sing "How Can I Keep From Singing."

Songlist for "Brand New Year" (2000): * Deck The Halls * Santa's Got A Brand New Bag * That's What I Want For Christmas * Jingle Bells * A Really Really Merry Scary Intro * Tinseltown * Sleigh Ride * What Child Is This * Hark The Herald Angels Sing/Carol Of The Bells * The Secret Of Christmas * Christmas Children * Twist Of The Magi * Brand New Year (My Revolution) *
