Amie Comeaux (pronounced "Como") hit the country music scene in 1994 with her debut album entitled "Moving Out," which was produced by Harold Shedd and David Briggs for PolyGram Records.

Singles from the album included the title track, "Who's She To You" and "Blue."  Several songs were also made into videos and used to be shown on Country Music Television (CMT).  None of the singles fared very well on the charts; radio, in general, failed to embrace Amie's music.

However, the charts don't tell the whole story.  Many folks fell in love with Amie's angelic voice and became big fans of her music.  Even though Amie's original debut album is no longer being produced, fans are still eagerly seeking to find used copies of it.  The album was originally available in both cassette tape and CD formats.

Song descriptions, lyrics, sound clips and my album review for "Moving Out"...

Below I've given a description of the songs on this album, along with my own personal opinion about each one.  Links to the lyrics are available for each song.

Selected songs feature a 30 second WAV sound file.  When you click on a WAV link, the file should automatically play in a music player on your computer, such as QuickTime Player (Mac) or Windows Media Player (PC).  If you experience problems playing a sound file, try saving the file to your computer first and manually open it in an audio player.

1. Moving Out --  Lyrics - Audio

The song "Moving Out" was released as a single (cover of CD single shown at right), however, I'm not sure if there was a video made for it.

This song, the title track is about the hopes, dreams, and problems that most young adults face when they move out of their parents' home for the first time to be on their own.

This is a good song with insightful lyrics...older teens will especially love it, while others can easy relate back to the days they were that age and leaving home for the first time.

2. Takin' It Back -- Lyrics

This track is about a girl who takes a strong stand against a lover who has lied and done her wrong.

I like this song! Amie sings the words forcefully and shows that the girl has the strength to stand up for herself.

3. I Want The First To Last -- Lyrics

A girl has fallen in love with "the right one," but wants to be sure before she gives her heart away, because she wants their love to be forever.

A touching song!

4. Blue -- Lyrics - Audio

The ballad "Blue" was released as a single...I'm not sure if there was ever a video for it.

This song is about a girl who was lonely until she met a particular guy. (This song isn't to be confused though with LeAnn Rimes' song of the same name.)

Unlike the title implies, this isn't a depressing song. I like it a lot!

5. Who's She To You -- Lyrics - Audio

This song was released as a single to radio and as a video on Country Music Television (CMT). I believe this was her highest charted song.

Noticing that her boyfriend has been watching his past love lately, the girl wants to know just who is "she to you."

Amie sings this track with force and strength just like she does in "Takin' It Back." I think it's a great song!

6. You Belong To Me -- Lyrics

This is a remake of the 50's country-pop ballad of the same name by Pee Wee King, Redd Stewart, and Chilton Price. It was a hit in 1952 for Jo Stafford. The song is about a girl whose lover is away traveling places and she reminds him that she "belongs" to him.

Amie shows a lot of sincerity in her voice in this song.

7. One Step Ahead Of You -- Lyrics

Again, this is a song about a girl who isn't afraid to stand up for herself when she realizes that a guy has just been "putting her on."

Great song! Amie sings it with punch and enthusiasm.

Moving Out cassette tape 8. I Heard It From My Heart -- Lyrics

A girl keeps wondering if her feelings toward a certain guy are just in her mind or really from her heart...as the title says though, she decides that they're from her heart.

Great song! I like the catchy lines!

9. Oh No, Not Love Again -- Lyrics

This song describes the thrill that comes with falling in love with someone - and the ways that excitement can affect you. As Amie says in the song, you can be so caught up in love that you "can't go to sleep" and "can't even eat."

Though this song is built around a familiar theme, Amie sings it with enough sincerity and enthusiasm that I keep wanting to listen to it. A really nice song!

10. Written In The Stars -- Lyrics

The last track of this album centers on the theme that if it is meant for two people to fall in love, despite all odds, that it will happen.

I couldn't help liking this song, despite its typical theme. It's a really cute song! I like it a lot!
