I joined the Army in August of 1999 because
I didn't know what that I wanted to do and wasn't ready for college. In my initial
contract, I choose the Airborne and Ranger options, along with $50,000 for college. While in the
Army, I attended and graduated from
Airborne School, R.I.P., Ranger School, Sere-B, Demolitions, and Jump Master
School. In October of 2001, only a
month after September 11th, I was called to action, serving my country in
Afghanistan. After 4 years and two rotations into Afghanistan and one trip to Iraq, I decided
to get out and go to college. My awards include: The Purple Heart, 3-Army Accommodation
Medals, the Parachutist Badge, the Ranger Tab, 3-Army Achievement Medals, a Good Conduct Medal
The National Service Defense Medal, and several campaign ribbons.
