NCAA Tournament
March 20th, 2006
Well after one weekend of the tournament my Final Four is
not going to be right. Ohio State messed that up for me. This is one of the worst tournament
brackets I can remember. Right now three teams have the slipper still on. Bradley a 13 seed, Wichita St. a 7 seed, and
George Mason an 11 seed all advanced to the sweet sixteen.

Well it's time to fill out the brackets. How stupid will you feel in a couple of weeks when your
hole bracket is shot to pieces. But that's not why I watch though. It's because of a thing called
the Cinderella Story.
March 6th, 2006
This time of year brings the best sports tourney all year. I'll be spending
spring break watching the first 2 rounds of the NCAA Tournament. But the excitement has already
started this past week. Many of the smaller conferences will be playing their tournaments
and then the big conferences will wrap it up March 12th. Monday I was watching the Gonzaga and
Loyola-Marymount Conference Championchip Game and saw why this time of year is so great. Loyola has a losing record
and their only chance of continuing their season was to win this game. Loyola led by as many
as 15. Then Gonzaga showed why they are the number 4 team in the country. The game was close
all the way to the final buzzer. Loyola had a chance to put an easy layup in at the end but
couldn't convert and Gonzaga goes on to win the WCC Championchip. After this a touching show
of emotion shows why the game is really played. Loyola players were sprawled on the floor
devasted by their loss and Gonzaga is celebrating their win. The emotion from this game shows
us why people really love sports. When you put your heart, soul and sweat out there on the
court people will become emotional. This just reinvigorated me about the purpose of basketball
because it's not for the money or the fame but the joy of playing, the emotion of winning and losing
that keeps us coming back for more.
