The fall 2007 portion of the competition will take place
in late October. The exact time
and place will be announced soon. The
Student Math League Competition consists of two tests throughout the school
year. These tests assume a student has had coursework in College Algebra and
Trigonometry only, and there are no calculus questions on the tests. The
Math League Competition is an opportunity for students to put their excellent
quantitative and mathematical skills to the test and to win cash prizes.
Prizes are awarded to the top finishers on each of the three tests and to the
top three finishers over all three tests. A $3,000 scholarship is also
offered on the national level to the highest scorer. There is no cost to
participate, and one receives the satisfaction and recognition of having
participated in a challenging math competition. During
the 2004-2005 school year, Gainesville College was the 2nd place team in the
Southeast Region, and we also had the top female competitor in the region! For
